It’s April baby, our favorite time of the year - Earth Month is upon us!
Every Earth Month has been different for us every year, sometimes we’re creating social media assets for salons, sometimes we’re hosting or tabling events, or we’re hosted on a podcast or on an article to talk about the sustainability movement in the beauty industry.
For this year, we are excited to announce our Earth Month plan by collaborating with Green Beauty Community Foundation. While Salonvironment is my personal business, I am also a co-founder and the current COO of The Green Beauty Community Foundation. We’ve been working hard creating an impactful movement for beauty professionals, brands, and businesses for this April and beyond - The Green Pledge.
What is the Green Pledge?
The Green Pledge is our way of uniting the industry to share the importance of sustainability in the beauty industry. It’s a pledge to be conscious and responsible for our part, making every day Earth Day.
When you take the pledge, you can pledge to either or all of the following:
Reducing Waste in My Business
Choosing Clean and Ethical Products
Conserving Water and Energy
Educating and Inspiring Others
Committing to Learn More About Sustainability
The point is to make promises you will keep, no matter how big or small the actions are - every action you take makes a difference when we all do it together.
Once you take the pledge you’ll receive a printable certificate, a social media toolkit with assets and captions, templates to explain to your clients and audience about how you took the Green Pledge, and exclusive discounts from some of our partners for the month of April.
Our partners include Green Circle Salons, VISH, Marlo Beauty Supply, DIP Haircare, Plaine Products, Cutler Pro, Insight Professional, Pro Beauty Association, PACT Collective, Green Spa Network, Amika, and many others!
We will also be offering 20% off of our retail products (our Plant-Fiber Lashes & our Recycling Notes Guidebook) for people who take the Green Pledge!

While we’ll be celebrating all April with the Green Pledge, we’ve been busy behind the doors at Green Beauty Community to support accessibility for sustainable education for beauty professionals and continuing to build our community! Here’s some of the other April things we are doing:

It is so rewarding that Salonvironment gets to be a part of a campaign that is accessible to all. We made it simple because we wanted everyone to be able to participate in their own way.
The sustainability movement should never be met with discouragement or guilt, but with open arms and patience. Imperfect actions are more impactful than not taking action at all.
