Disaster Relief Resources (for beauty pros, salons, & communities)

Hurricane Helene, 2024

Living in Michigan, I have never been able to fathom what other people in the U.S. go through when it comes to natural disasters, especially where hurricanes are concerned.

Hurricane Helene is considered one of the most deadliest mainland hurricanes we’ve had since Hurricane Katrina, with the death toll rising daily, and hundreds still missing.

People from all over Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee all say they same thing - they need help. They need money and supplies to support their community and help displaced individuals that now have lost their income, their home, and everything included in that.

Since many political officials have voted against funding for FEMA, including officials that are rejecting funding from federal government, and the spread of misinformation that’s taking media away from the real problem - many aid organizations, small businesses, and individuals are on their own to figure out how best support themselves and their neighbors.

Climate change is not a political issue, it is a human safety and public health issue.

Hurricane Helene Relief Resources

We are using this article to spread resources to help Hurricane Helene victims. These are resources shared by beauty professionals, for beauty professionals, and surrounding community members.

Most of these resources are also raffles, fundraisers, and service donations provided by local hairstylists that help raise money for Hurricane Helene victims.

If you are close in proximity to them, you can support them and support their mission by entering their programs or check out who they are donating to and donate straight to those resources.

You can click on the photo for the link to their offering + more details.

Make Your Voice Heard!

Besides monetary and physical donations, we also ask that you email your State Representative to ask for more federal funding for victims of climate disasters.

How?

We have created a campaign for you to do so. It takes 5 minutes to fill out, has a pre-made message (or you can write your own), and it will be sent to your SR based on your zip code. This is a way you can create a huge impact and put pressure on government to take care of citizens and communities - but also making it easy.

Easy to do and easy to share.

We still have a few more days left for Hurricane Milton to arrive and I’m nervous what will happen.

But what we can do is take care of one another, protect one another, and offer what we can to support each other.
